Joan Morse CPDT-KA TTACT-P1
Behavior Training
CGC Evaluator
I have been training dogs for over 20 years. I started with a small mixed breed, named Becky, who loved both obedience and agility. I was quickly hooked on dog training and have been involved ever since. My dogs have competed and earned titles in Obedience, Agility, Rally and Herding. We have won many class placements and several high in trials. Several of my dogs have been nationally ranked in obedience.
My particular area of interest is helping people solve behavior issues that their dogs have developed. Whether the problem is something simple like pulling on leash or jumping up on people, or more complex like reacting to other dogs or people or being very shy or anxious, I enjoy the challenge of helping you and your dog overcome the obstacle and go on to have a happy, enjoyable relationship.
My experience comes not only from training my own dogs, but from volunteering for over 15 years as the local trainer for the puppy raising program of a major guide dog school. This activity gave me a lot of experience working with both puppies and adolescent dogs. I am a Certified Professional Dog Trainer (CPDT-KA) and a guild-certified Tellington TTouch practitioner. As an AKC Canine Good Citizen Evaluator, I hold CGC tests several times a year at Canine Workout.
Whether you want a small focused class to brush up on a skill or need more focused help in private sessions, I can help.
